Words on Stage

Best of Spoken Word – with Helene Bockhorst, Lara Stoll, Interrobang, Matto Kämpf, Simon Chen

The evening brings together a selection of the best Spoken Word Artists and performers from the German-speaking world.

Helene Bockhorst, German cabaret artist and author, was the first woman to win the Hamburg Comedy Cup in 2018. Her slam video Involuntary Virginity became a viral hit on Facebook and YouTube with several million clicks.

Lara Stoll is winner of the German Cabaret Award 2019 and multiple Swiss and European Champion in Poetry Slam. The charming poetry punk foams and snores, speaks gibberish and formulates razor-sharp sentences.

Interrobang (aka Valerio Moser and Manuel Diener) are two-time Swiss champions and two-time German-speaking champions in the Team Poetry Slam. They swirl virtuosically with words and clichés and combine powerful performance with ingenious wit.

Matto Kämpf  is a theatre maker, filmmaker, author and actor. His speciality are curious stories from real life. The Bernese jack-of-all-trades is known from radio and television (e.g. Giaccobo/Müller, Experiment Schneuwly) and notorious for his wonderfully bizarre humour.

Simon Chen, grew up on the language border in Fribourg, he now explores the boundaries of language and juggles with the letters that mean the world. He is regarded as a brilliant spoken word poet and cabaret artist - witty, ingenious and bitingly evil.

The evening will be hosted by the well-known TV presenter, beatboxer and rapper Knackeboul.
